I have been taking photos since the 90s, when I was studying photography at Escola das Artes António Arroio in Lisbon. Throughout the years, I have developed my practice working in the arts and theatre and in 1999, founded the Blue Elephant Theatre in London, a purpose built theatre studio with an art gallery. After seven incredibly exhilarating but exhausting years running it and after a stint in film school in 2004, I started making films and since then, have never looked back. Over the last year, during lockdown, I have again been drawn to photography, propelled by an almost anthropological desire to document what I see. When I am not working on my projects, I collaborate with other directors mainly as off-line editor and script consultant. I am based in North London.
